About Glenn
Glenn Steers is happily married to Karen Steers, his wife of 21 years, and is the father of 5 children. The oldest child, Joshua, is living and working in New York City and is pursuing a career in music production. The triplets, Caleb, Brianna and Noah, are 15 and are high school freshmen. Caleb is home schooled and loves RG3 of the Redskins and Lebron James of the Heat. Brianna is a talented artist and incredible dancer. Noah plays guitar, loves music and enjoys playing soccer. Glenn's youngest daughter, Marli, is 8 years old (going on 30) and loves to create art projects and is also a dancer. Glenn and his family live in Holly Springs, a suburb of Raleigh, NC.
Glenn is a serial entrepreneur who's started several businesses, including a talent agency, a marketing and sales company and several Internet businesses. He's the President of WebsiteMasters, a Maryland based Internet company, that has launched and managed thousands of websites for businesses and churches worldwide. His most recent venture is a company called Social Director, a social media management service.
Glenn began his walk of faith in 1976, at the age of 16. He was briefly married at the age of 17 and drifted spiritually for about 10 years until he met his future wife, Karen, and began to settle down and reestablish his spiritual roots. In 2006, after the birth of their 5th child and buying a home in NC, Karen was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and given a less than 10% chance of survival beyond 5 years. Miraculously, God healed Karen and now almost 7 years later she is completely cancer free. At about the same time, Glenn began to question many of his long held religious beliefs and traditions. He began to see "church" in a new light. Instead of being a building that people went to for 1 hour on Sundays, he started to realize that the Body of Christ was a living organism that was supposed to be Jesus to the World 168 hours a week, not just one. He realized that all believers, under the New Covenant, were kingly priests who had direct access to their Heavenly Father through His Son, Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit. This same Spirit lives and moves in each believer and teaches us all things. Glenn has been enjoying freedom in Christ ever since and continues to learn about God's grace and love as he strives to be a loving husband and father.
Glenn became a member of the board of directors of Adventures in Missions in 2010. He continues to work with Adventures as a supporter of the Kingdom Dreams initiative and speaks at Searchlight functions on occasion. Glenn is going on his 3rd "man hike" in April of 2013 and looks forward to his continuing work with Adventures in Missions.
UPDATE: Since his first Adventures Parent Vision Trip to Thailand in March of 2013, Glenn is now a part of the leadership team of the Parent Ministry. He will help facilitate future parent trips and plan the expansion of Adventures' outreach to parents.
